Since a lot of people ask me what tools are best to use in the single kitchen (suitable for family kitchens, too!), I’ve decided to start a segment called Tool of the Week. The Tool of the Week should not be mistaken for the sort featured on VH-1.
No no, these tools are useful! This weeks tool?
The Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender.
Why I love it: An essential time saver if you’re blending a soup, mashed potatoes, or mashed anything, this hand blender makes quick work of a usually heavy-labor task. It makes delicious smoothies. It’s blends smooth sauces. It makes everything pretty. From breakfast to dinner (and dessert too) it makes everything much faster.
Why I also love it: It’s not too expensive. Around $30 – $40 it’ll pay for itself soon enough (think of all the time you’ll save!).
It’s flaws: You’ll need nimble fingers and a good brush to get it clean, especially if you’re blending something small and sticky like seeds. You’ll need to submerge the blender so that the blade is completely covered, otherwise you’ll make a huge mess. Also, don’t get the wise idea of putting it in the dish washer. You will kill it.
Overall, I love this hand blender, and I think you’ll love it, too.
