This is a delicious, quick and nutritious breakfast. It takes just 6 minutes to assemble, which is just a couple minutes more than the instant variety. And it’s so much better!
RECIPE

TOOLS
- ½ cup measuring cup
- Small pot
- Spoon to stir
- Cereal bowl for eating
INGREDIENTS
1 cup skim milk, rice milk, or almond milk
½ – 1 cup Scottish oats (I use Old Wessex Ltd. Scottish Style Porridge Oats)
½ cup blueberries
Pinch of salt
Sprinkling of your favorite nuts
METHOD
- Measure out 1 cup of skim, rice or almond milk and pour into a small pot.
- Place pot over medium high heat, and bring milk to a slow boil.
- Once milk is boiling, pour in ½ – 1 cup of Scottish oats (1/2 cup of oats if you like your oatmeal soupy. Use 1 cup if you like it firm).
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Stir oats occasionally for about 3 minutes, until milk evaporates.
- Spoon oats into bowl and add ½ cup of blueberries.
- Sprinkle on nuts and enjoy.
