For our last breakfast this weekend Sean and I tried turkey eggs. Sean researched them, and then scrambled them. And they were so buttery and delicious, I wish we took photos. But we didn’t. Instead we both marveled over the fact that everything we read about the taste of turkey eggs was basically wrong. They don’t taste just like chicken. Nope. They taste way better than chicken eggs. Rich and creamy, and delicious. A fantastic and unusual breakfast treat.
Still turkey eggs won’t be replacing the chicken egg. Not by a long shot. They’re too rare since turkeys don’t lay as many eggs as chickens. So Sean and I realize just how lucky we are. So lucky that if you happen upon a turkey egg, I insist you try one, too.
